Structured Sober Living For Women

A major component of the success of Clarity House is our alumni. The stories of the women who are in our house and are still sober today are listed on this page.

Brittany,

Since I have been at Clarity House, I have been able to learn a lot about myself.  I have been able to work on my character defects, accountability, honesty, and awareness.  With the other girl’s in the house, I have been able to change faster.  With all of us pulling each other’s covers, and being accountable for each other no one gets away with anything.  It has really helped me to open up to my feelings and change my old ways.  Most importantly, I have learned that I can stay sober and that I want to be sober.  What I am looking forward to is growing in my sobriety, building healthy relationships with my peers, being an example for the new girls that come in, and of course getting back the respect from my family.  I am mostly excited about learning to be able to use the tools I am being given to live a successful life without using drugs and alcohol.  With this program, I have learned that I can be happy without using, and it is okay to feel your emotions.  With help and really wanting something I can do anything I put my mind and my heart to.

Morgan,

Clarity House has offered me a safe environment to be in with support, especially during the hard times I go through.  I have staff support 24/7 that I can always turn to with any situation and get help and advice to work through anything.  Just knowing that there are people with more experience and have gone through the same things I have is an awesome thing to have.  I also have the support of the other girls in the house to help me through the rough times in sobriety.  I know that at any time I can turn to my peers and they will help me walk through any situation I encounter, good or bad, and that is something I did not have before I got here.  I am able to talk about everything that is going on with me here and get help with processing my feelings in a healthy way.  I have also developed a strong relationship with my higher power since I have been here and I always have that to turn to.  My higher power has definitely made this experience easier for me.  I am very grateful for these things in my life today and I know that I have the people and tools to get me through anything sober.

Brigitte,

Most women I know with over a year of sobriety do not get the opportunity to move into a recovery house, and participate in creating a foundation that is going to change the lives of young adult women who are ready to get help.  Not only has this experience given me a chance to be of service and set an example, but Clarity House has given me a chance to change.  Through living day to day with the women in the house, who I am and how I live my life does not need to be a secret.  Every day at Clarity House is a new chance for me to work on becoming the best woman I can be.  Living sober and growing spiritually with women who are doing the right thing has played a key part in me not returning to my old life.  As a result of living at Clarity House, every day I am lovingly surrounded by accountability and honesty.  If it was not worth living here, with these women, I never would have realized that the journey that is my recovery never has to be walked alone.

Gloria,

I am extremely grateful to be able to be blessed with an opportunity to get to work with these women.  I am amazed at the changes that I am able to see in them in a matter of a few months.  Being able to share my experience, strength and hope with them, and being able to connect with them is a great feeling.  I see that they are able and willing to take the feedback that is given to them, than using it to help change their lives is an amazing process.  I can watch the light come back on in them through understanding this program and taking that action toward a solution.  Being able to help these women stay sober in turn helps me to stay sober.  It also helps me take a look at my life and hold myself accountable.  I have also been able to see that working with these women has already changed my life.  It has also branched out to other parts of my life that I did not think it would affect.  It has me taking a look at my relationships with my friends and family, the relationships with my sponsees , and helped my outlook on life in general.  My experience helping women stay sober and life live has been so rewarding and life changing.  It helps to keep me grounded and humble in my own day to day life.  The best part of it all is being able to witness the miracles that get to happen in these women’s lives, and them knowing they didn’t do it alone, and being able to be alive and sober.  It is truly a blessing.
